Sports Achievements and Information

Park House Primary School prides itself on the sporting achievements our pupils make during their time with us.  We are very active within our cluster of schools through inter school competitions and we offer a wide range of sporting clubs across the academic year.

The government provides additional funding of £150 million per annum to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is being allocated to primary school headteachers.  This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

At Park House Primary School we have developed an action plan in order to continue to improve PE provision and raise achievement for all pupils in sport.

Our priorities mean that the funding will:

1.  Give staff an opportunity to work alongside PE specialists to improve the quality of PE lessons delivered, by non-specialist members of staff, and to ensure that all pupils improve their health, skills and physical literacy, and have a broader exposure to a range of sports.

2.  Develop a lunchtime physical activity offer for all age groups in order to increase participations in physical activities across lunch times.

3.  Increase participation levels in both extra-curricular and competitive sport, involving pupil leadership/teams to improve the healthy activity of all pupils.

4.  Give all pupils an opportunity to experience a wide range of sporting activities throughout the year.

How much do we get?

The PE and sport premium is a government funding initiative designed to help primary schools improve the quality of PE and sport activities they offer. In 2017-2018, schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils will receive £1,000 per pupil, while schools with 17 or more eligible pupils will receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.  In 2018-19 Park House Primary School received £18110.

How is it spent?
